Dr Chiara Causier (DClinPsych, MSc, BA)
Clinical Psychologist
Adult and Child and Mental Health, Anxiety Disorders and OCD

Hello, my name is Chiara and I am a Clinical Psychologist with over five years’ experience working therapeutically within the NHS. I completed my Clinical Psychology Doctoral training at the University of Oxford.
I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where individuals can share their thoughts and feelings, and be met with compassion, hope and encouragement. I primarily draw upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), adapting these therapies to meet the needs of each unique person. I am a BABCP accredited CBT therapist and hold AFT foundation level Family and Systemic Psychotherapy accreditation.
My area of expertise and passion is working alongside young people and children with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), providing them with support to face their fears and tolerate their distress, so that they can live the lives they want to lead. I currently work in the University Clinic at University College London, specialising in providing CBT for OCD in the student population and I’m currently researching ways to improve how we treat OCD. My current research focus is on better understanding and treating reassurance-seeking. I also have substantial experience in working with both adults and children with neurodiversity and I am passionate about working with this client group.
I have experience supporting people experiencing a range of difficulties including:
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Anxiety (e.g. social anxiety, panic, separation anxiety, phobias, generalised anxiety)
- Anxiety/OCD in the context of Autism and/or ADHD
- Low mood
- Low self-esteem
I am fully registered with the Health Care Professional Council as a registered Clinical Psychologist: PYL043407.
